Amazon purchases Twitch

Amazon is a well-known and well reputed global electronic commerce company. Without a doubt, AMZN is the world’s largest internet company on the basis of revenue and number of employees. The company has come a long way since its inception to make what it really is today. Therefore, AMZN has gone through some major and minor acquisitions to keep the work going. The recent activity of the company in the market is the purchase of Twitch which is a game play broadcasting service.

But now that Amazon officially owns Twitch. Analysts believe that the deal is one of the greatest and not only Amazon, but both of these companies will undoubtedly benefit from each other. Hence, it will prove to be beneficial for both parties.

As it is known that the game play broadcasting company, Twitch will be benefitting from AMZN’s extensive range of resources and wealth, but the company was doing a good business all alone in the market as well. Twitch has grown itself into one of the biggest services on the internet in just a few years.

The company said “the sale will enable [it] to accelerate all of the things we want to do for our community, and the company will retain some independence.”

The company, AMZN, had intentions to buy the game play broadcasting service company Twitch in August, and hence is officially the owner of it after completing the deal of worth $970 million. It was known for a long time that only Google was in the line to purchase Twitch, and it may never be clear exactly what happened among these three companies.
