Amazon has eyes on you

The new AMZN Echo is far trickier than you perceive it to be. The company has actually eyes on you through their upcoming smart TV and Echo device. The device itself is more of a robotic prototype since it will keep a track of what you do and at times just do it for you.
Whenever the device is in your vicinity, it is a 20 cm tall cylinder that resides in your house and keeps a track of everything you do. According to the way AMZN is marketing it, the device will listen to everything and respond appropriately. So all the questions you ask will now be answered by echo. The only thing you are required to do is mention the word Alexa in order to get response from the device.

So this device is similar to SIRI or Google Now but the only difference is that is available within your house. The device is not something very extraordinary but is kind of simple or overpriced. It has basically two speakers and seven microphones attached to it. But this is not the problem. The problem is that the device is a recorder that will pry on you everywhere. The idea is that these internet enabled devices will be tracking you anywhere you go. Thus you would be constantly under cyber vigilance. And moreover AMZN has promised that this device will just keep on getting smarter as time passes. Thus it will get creepier with time. The more technology enabled, the better it can spy.

The only issue with Amazon coming up with this device is that it is intervening in human privacy. Unintentionally if the users record something which is not meant for it then the repercussions can be quite drastic. The company needs to make one thing clear, whether they want a look into consumer life or it wants to sell its product. A cyber war can further erupt if integrity is not ensured.
