Netflix believes that time is up for traditional television

Netflixis the largest Internet streaming services provider of movies and TV showswhich has dominated the market for many years now. Despite of facing tough competition from Hulu and Amazon Prime, Netflix has proved to be a better option for viewers and customers in terms of prices as well as number of streaming hours available. Netflix has almost all from the latest and recent to the top rated movies and TV shows which makes it as one of the best out there.
Being successful for many years now, the streaming services of Netflix was demanded in many parts of the world. Hence recently, the company announced to expand its global footprints in Australia where the people were begging for Netflix to launch. However, after decimating the conventional pay TV cable in the United States and other regions, it is feared that traditional television might be dying in challenge to rival Foxtel in Australia.
According to Australian news, it is believed that “NFLX's imminent expansion into the Australian market has seen battle lines drawn, with the international giant warning that traditional television is dying.” Netflix will be launched inMarch 2015 in Australia which will add more users to its already widely expanded user database of 53 million subscribers worldwide. The pricing is decided to be about $10 per month to access the streaming services of Netflix.
Ithink the model for broadcast TV, where it's this destination stop where you go home at 8 o'clock to watch House Of Cards... that use-by date has probably passed already,” Cliff Edwards said who is the director of corporate communications of the company. He further added that this has been one of those long time coming markets as the company had been planning to launch itsservices in Australia and New Zealand both for a very long time. In a nutshell, Netflix's move will trigger fierce competition in the video-on-demand business.
